HELSINKI METRO TRIES OUT CHOPPER PROTOTYPE

A six-car prototype train with thyristor control is now undergoing tests on the first 3-km stretch of rapid transit line in the Finnish capital which is being used as a proving ground. Scheduled passenger sevices will commence in the mid-1970s.
