BASES AND SUB-BASES FOR FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS /IN RUSSIAN/

THE DESIGN OF STABILIZED BASES AND SUB-BASES IS REVIEWED FOR FLEXIBLE PAVEMENTS USED IN VARIOUS COUNTRIES AS DISCUSSED AT THE PIARC CONGRESS IN TOKYO. THEY ARE CLASSIFIED INTO TWO CATEGORIES: THOSE WITH AND THOSE WITHOUT SAND, SILT OR CLAY. TRENDS IN STABILIZATION METHODS, CONSTRUCTION TECHNIQUES, APPLICATION, AND THICKNESS OF BASES ARE OUTLINED. ATTENTION IS DRAWN TO THE NEED FOR FURTHER STUDY OF THE CAUSES, CONSEQUENCES AND REPAIR OF CRACKS IN CEMENT-STABILIZED LEAN CONCRETE BASES. /LCPC/RRL/
