THE CONSOLIDATION OF LOESS SOIL BY A THERMAL METHOD /IN RUSSIAN/

DETAILS ARE GIVEN OF A METHOD OF ELIMINATING THE SUBSIDENCE OBSERVED IN HANGARS USED FOR THE STORAGE OF MATERIALS. THE SUBSIDENCE OCCURRED IN THE UPPER SURFACE LAYER OF THE SOIL; LOADS WERE APPLIED TO THE DEEPEST INCOMPRESSIBLE LAYER BY THERMAL TREATMENT USING A METHOD ALREADY EMPLOYED IN THE U.S.S.R. DATA ARE PRESENTED ON VERTICAL AND INCLINED SOUNDINGS, THE COMPOSITION OF THE COMBUSTIBLE MIXTURE OF AIR AND NATURAL GAS, AND THE DEVICE USED TO MEASURE SOIL TEMPERATURE. /LCPC/RRL/
