SOIL-SILICATE CONCRETE SURFACINGS /IN RUSSIAN/

THE TREATMENT OF SOME SOILS (SAND, SILT, ETC.) WITH CRUSHED GRANULATED SLAG TO WHICH AN ALKALINE COMPOUND HAS BEEN ADDED IS DISCUSSED. THE PROPORTION OF SLAG VARIES FROM 15 TO OVER 30 PER CENT, AND THE STRENGTH OBTAINED CAN EXCEED 600 BARS. THIS MATERIAL HAS A HIGH RESISTANCE TO FREEZING- THAWING CYCLES AND AGGRESSIVE WATER. AN EXPERIMENTAL CONSTRUCTION SITE IS DESCRIBED WHERE AN ATTEMPT IS BEING MADE TO ADAPT RESEARCH RESULTS TO EXPERIMENTAL CONDITIONS. /LCPC/RRL/
