STUDY OF THE TREATMENT OF SOIL WITH IMPROVED CARBAMIDE RESIN /IN FRENCH/

TEST RESULTS ARE PRESENTED CONCERNING THE STABILIZATION OF SATURATED FINE SOIL (CLAYEY SAND) AT LOW TEMPERATURE WITH CARBAMIDE RESIN PRODUCTS: MFF (UREA-FORMOLFORMALDEHYDE) AND MMF-2 WAS MADE OF THE RATE OF HARDENING OF MFF ALONE AND IN THE PRESENCE OF SOIL, OF THE INFLUENCE OF THE FINES AND SPECIFIC SURFACE OF SOIL ON STABILIZATION, OF THE PHYSICAL AND MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF THE STABILIZED SOIL, AND OF FROST RESISTANCE. RESULTS SHOW THAT MFF IS MORE EFFECTIVE THAN MFF2 FOR THE TREATMENT OF SATURATED SOIL, WITH A PLASTICITY INDEX OF LESS THAN 17, AND THAT THE MECHANICAL CHARACTERISTICS OF SOIL TREATED IN THIS WAY ARE SUPERIOR TO THOSE OF IDENTICAL SOIL STABILIZED WITH CEMENT.
