X-RAY EVIDENCE FOR CEMENT-CLAY INTERACTION

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF CEMENT-CLAY INTERACTION IS BEING STUDIED FOR STABILIZATION OF SOILS FOR ROADS, AIRFIELDS, AND OTHER ENGINEERING WORKS. IN HARDENING, HYDRATION AND HYDROLYSIS OF CEMENT ARE REGARDED AS PRIMARY REACTIONS. INVESTIGATION INDICATES THE EXISTENCE OF SECONDARY PROCESSES INVOLVING LIME GENERATED BY HYDRATING CEMENT AND CLAY.
