COMPRESSIVE STRENGTH AND CBR VALUES IN SOIL-CEMENT SAMPLES

STRENGTH OF SOIL-CEMENT SAMPLES WAS TESTED BY THE AUTHORS IN COMPRESSION, BENDING, UNDER TENSION, BY USE OF THE BRAZILIAN METHOD AND IN TERMS OF THE CBR. THE 2 SOILS TESTED WERE SAND AND SILT. THE SAMPLES CONTAINED DIFFERENT TYPES AND QUALITIES OF PORTLAND AND METALLURGICAL CEMENTS. ALL THE TESTS WERE CARRIED OUT ON SOIL-CEMENT SAMPLES COMPACTED TO A MODIFIED PROCTOR MAXIMUM DRY DENSITY. THE TENSILE STRENGTHS MEASURED VARIED FROM ABOUT 1/6 TO 1/8 OF THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS, THE STRENGTHS IN BENDING RANGING FROM ABOUT 1/3 TO 1/6 OF THE COMPRESSIVE STRENGTHS.
