REPAIR OF HULLS OF REINFORCED CONCRETE FLOATING DOCKS IN THE NORTH
REMONT KORPUSOV ZHELEZOBETONNYKH PLAVUCHIKH DOKOV NA SEVERE
Analyzes experience with a 6000 t floating dock ten years in operation at the Murmansk ship-repair yard. In the fourth year, scaling of the protective layer and initial stage of concrete destruction were discovered, and in the fourth and fifth year, scaling of the building slip and destruction of the exposed concrete which substantially affected the reinforced concrete plate of the slip. Hairline cracks appeared on the side frames, then on deck carlings, cross bulkheads, etc. A new protective layer with an expoxy resin base applied to the scaled and fissured areas put the dock into a satisfactory operating condition again.
