RESEARCH ON THE STABILIZATION OF SOILS WITH LIME AND FLY ASH

THE WORK DONE BY THE AUTHOR DURING THE LAST EIGHT YEARS ON STABILIZATION OF SOILS WITH LIME AND FLY ASH IS PRESENTED. THE INFLUENCE OF THE COMPONENT MATERIALS, AS WELL AS THE FACTORS INFLUENCING COMPACTION AND CURING, IS ANALYSED. FLY ASH WITH LIME CAN BE A COMPETITIVE METHOD OF STABILIZING SOILS IF THE FLY ASH IS CHEAP AND OF GOOD QUALITY. AFTER 28 DAYS CURING, STRENGTHS COMPARABLE TO THOSE OF SOIL-CEMENT CAN BE OBTAINED. /AUTH/
