A Systematic Review of the ITS Road Transport Literature - What is Known and Suggestions for Future Research
Sweden is investigating how and what intelligent transport telematics system to adopt to decrease the external effect from heavy goods vehicles, but also as a means to finance infrastructure investments in roads. This paper presents a systematic literature review of the area concerning decreasing the external effects from road traffic via economic measures using ITS and telematics services. Based on the literature review, suggestions for further research is motivated and argued in order to achieve a market-based system for road user charging for a Swedish setting.
