System for Managing Truck Driver's Work and Rest Schedules

There are international regulations limiting the time a truck driver is allowed to stay behind the wheel and how long he must rest before returning to work. Adhering to this is usually checked with special measuring devices, which record the duration of the vehicle being moving and being parked. Sometimes these devices are checked upon subsequently by regulatory bodies. Failing to adhere to these regulations might result in rather hefty fines to the company. In order to avoid these fines, the drivers are obliged to find a parking spot after the specified time and take a rest. Unfortunately, there are occasions when a parking space cannot be found because all the suitable lots are already occupied to the max. A good solution, hopefully soon the reality, would be the pre-booking of parking spaces, but even then there is a possibility of the driver not making it to his booked parking space due to traffic jams or other unforeseeable circumstances. This is a plan which addresses these problems and finds a way to ensure that the driver does not exceed his working times.
