Planning Route Based on Experienced Routes
Route planning, a main function of navigation system, provides a driver with a route from the given origin (or current position) to the given destination. To make route planning results more reasonable, the authors propose to plan a route by considering experienced routes. Experienced route is the route chosen by many experienced drivers. Experienced routes contain drivers’ historical experiences on time-variant traffic flows, direction changes contained in a route, probability of accidents, etc. They are valuable to plan new routes for drivers. The paper introduces the route planning method based on experienced routes and experiment results prove that it is effective.
