CUSTODY TRANSFER INSTRUMENTATION FOR LNG CARRIERS
New Instrumentation has been developed for the specific purpose of meeting the performance requirements of LNG custody transfer in the cryogenic and marine environments. The concept behind this measuring system is that the delivered quantity of gas is determined by measuring the mass of the liquid and the mass of gas in the ship tanks before and after delivery. The differences are the amounts delivered independent of the changes in temperature and pressure. A discussion of the requirements and instrumentation of the system are included in the article.
