SOME ASPECTS OF THE PLANNING AND ECONOMICS OF SITE INVESTIGATION

THE AIM OF SITE INVESTIGATIONS IS TO PROVIDE ADEQUATE AND ACCURATE INFORMATION FOR THE DESIGN OF THE PROPOSED STRUCTURE WITHIN THE ALLOTTED FUNDS. THE COSTS OF THE WORKS ARE DISCUSSED GENERALLY WITH REFERENCE TO DRILLING AND SAMPLING. A SYSTEM OF PLANNING WHICH PROVIDES A CHECK LIST OF REQUIRED INFORMATION IS OUTLINED AND THREE CASE HISTORIES ARE GIVEN TO ILLUSTRATE THE BENEFITS OF PLANNING AND SUPERVISION OF SITE INVESTIGATION WORK. /AUTHOR/
