Intelligent transportation systems (ITS) for public transport and security
This paper will discuss the rapidly changing focus of public transit as a result of the terrorist attacks of September 11. The paper will provide an outline of the security initiative developed by the Federal Transit Administration (FTA), discuss the requirements for a public security user service as part of the National ITS Architecture, and relate these requirements to possible research and development.
