THEORETICAL CONTRIBUTION TO THE WAVE-RESISTANCE PROBLEM OF SHIP-BULB COMBINATIONS. VERIFICATION OF THE NEGATIVENESS OF THE INTERACTION TERM
In many cases vagueness exists concerning whether a bulb will reduce the wave resistance of a ship or not. By using linearized theory, it is shown that in a certain region of velocity the wave resistance of a ship-bulb combination is always smaller than or equal to the wave resistance of the ship without bulb.
