Soil stabilisation with foamed bitumen
The foamed bitumen process has been in use in Australia for some three years, during which many different types of 'soil' have been upgraded to serve as subbase and base course pavement layers. This paper is intended to summarise developments made in the process itself and to comment on those aspects of making and handling foam stabilised pavement materials which have proved significant in ensuring good service performance.
