This paper briefly analyses the following papers: the coefficient of friction of road surfaces (orchard=df and yandell=wo); experiments with side entry gully pits on steep grades (tiller=je); skid resistant pellets in bituminous surfacing (west=nw and leung=jsy); the part played by texture in skidding resistance (yandell=wo).
