Introduction to road alignment location using the method of space tangents
Developments in current geometric design methods strive increasingly for three dimensional design. The method of space tangents is a direct result of this search and uses terrain model location in combination with intersecting tangents in space. Some of the geometric effects of the methods are discussed theoretically and it is suggested that further work be undertaken to show the practicability of the design method (a).
