This paper briefly analyses the following papers: damping characteristics of soils (Shackel=B); the design of overlays for highways (Cogill=WH and Shackel=B); pavement evaluation using the plate bearing test (Cochrane=BR and Styles=JR) pavement investigation using sh waves - case of single surface layer (Kurzeme=M); flexible pavement behaviour and application of elastic theory - a review (Morgan=JR and Scala=AJ).
