A brief analysis of the following papers is presented: trend in speeds on British main roads (coburn=tm); police use of accident and violation records in Queensland for accident reduction and driver improvement purposes (rice=ra and tindall=ji); age and sex in relation to road traffic accidents (lock=jb); bridge accidents on rural highways in New Zealand - analysis and appraisal (brown=jv and foster=j); an examination of the effect of raising the speed limit in built up areas in Victoria (harper=bcs).
