The remarks present an analysis of the following papers: the influence of some properties of two layered soil systems on the velocity of love waves excited at the surface (cogill=wh); the use of the surface wave propagation method for the testing of roads (jones=r); stress distribution and dynamic testing in relation to road design (klomp=agj and dormon=gm); computation of stresses in pavements (cumming=da and gerrard=cm); the application of elasticity theory to the design of pavements using cement bound materials (saunders=lr).
