Report on visit to 18th OECD steering committee and associated organizations

The report summarises the impressions gained by the author during a recent (1977) visit to Los Angeles, University of Texas, Texas Transportation Institute, Southwest Research Institute, Transportation Research Board, Federal Highway Administration, American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials, Transport and Road Research Laboratory, Centre de Recherches Routieres (Belgium), Bundesanstalt fuer Strassenwesen (Germany), Germany Works Ministry, Institut de Recherche des Transports (France), Laboratoire Central des Ponts et Chaussees (France), and the 18th steering committee meeting of the OECD RRP. Diverse comments are made relative to the various centres visited, particularly with respect to the organisation of research and research contracts. Specific recommendations are made concerning the manner in which the OECD RRP should be organised in Australia and the manner in which their documents should be handled is closely defined. Recommendations are made with respect to a local secretary to the delegation (a).
