THE TRAFFIC COUNTING-PROGRAM IN CINCINNATI

THIS TRAFFIC COUNT PROGRAM IS BASED ON THE USE OF PORTABLE 15-MINUTE RECORDERS, SUPPLEMENTED BY 6 PERMANENT HOURLY RECORDERS AND BY ANNUAL COUNTS. THE DATA IS USED TO PREPARE VEHICLE FLOW CHARTS AND VEHICLE MILEAGE COMPUTATIONS USED TO DETERMINE MAINTENANCE PRIORITIES, VEHICLE DELAY RATES, ACCIDENT RATES, FUND ALLOCATIONS, AND TO SPOT TRENDS. HOURLY, DAILY, AND SEASONAL TRENDS ARE ANALYZED AND COMPARED TO A HOME INTERVIEW SURVEY.
