Transport decision making and its spatial repercussions
As a means of exploring the interrelationships between the transport decision making process and the spatial structure of socioeconomic activities, this chapter provides a conceptual framework to help shape our understanding of the 'real world'. The framework also, in part, regulates any future modelling approach because it suggests 'what may be accepted as significant "facts", what are already assumed to be data and what remains problematic with reference to that conceptual scheme' (a).
