This report is presented in five subsequent chapters: chapter ii: determination of fare levels - delineates alternative approaches to fixing fares, methods of establishing fare levels as well as guidelines for fixing fares. Chapter iii: ticketing methods and fare collection systems compares bus, rail as well as combined public transport systems. Chapter iv: methods of dividing revenues between coordinated services: summarises examples of several coordinated systems on operation. Chapter v: recommendations for further action - presents a preliminary consultant's brief for undertaking a Brisbane fare study. (a). Also published as two separate volumes are appendix volume 1: ticket issuing and fare collections and production of revenue and patronage figures, and executive summary literature review of fare systems for public transport services.
