The development of a standard method of reporting engineering investigations at accident sites by state road authorities, i: report form content
It is state road authority practice to conduct independent engineering investigations at the sites of more serious (usually fatal) accidents on roads under their control. The coverage of these investigations can vary widely and the authorities expressed support for the development of standard method of reporting and processing the information collected in this way. Such standardisation would increase the usefulness and size of the data base. This report considers some of the individual reporting methods used by the authorities and proposes the content of a form which might become the basis of such a standardised procedure. The content for such a form is given as appendix c to the report. (A)
