Report on November 1977 OECD road research program meetings: steering committee - information systems - heavy freight vehicles
The report provides a record of the authors attendance at three meetings of the OECD research program (rrp) in November, 1977. These meetings were (a) the steering committee of the program at which the author was sole Australian delegate, (b) the 3rd plenary meeting of the International Road Research Documentation (IRRD) system at which the author was a co-delegate and (c) a symposium on heavy freight vehicles and their effects, at which the author was leader of a delegation of three. The report describes progress on the current research program of the rrp, the seven final reports recommended for publication and the new research projects selected for 1978/79. It recommends action with respect to Australian involvement in the new program. The latter parts of the report describe the activities of the IRRD and heavy vehicles meetings. Australia's progress with IRRD is seen to be satisfactory with respect to other participants. European interest in the NAASRA ERVL study is described and the need for ongoing Australian activity in the area is explained.
