Combined land use and transport planning
This paper briefly describes the results of a study for a bus network carried out in developing residential areas in outer suburban Melbourne described as "bus network planning in new urban areas." The proposed road network of an outline development plan already prepared, proved to be impracticable to service by buses in an efficient way, in both level of service or within economic limits. An alternative plan prepared increased the likely operating efficiency by 100% in decreasing the required route length, and increased the potential patronage.
