Evaluation of 3 way intersection regulation
As of 1.6.75 A new regulation became operative in Western Australia with respect to right of way obligations of drivers at uncontrolled 3 way intersections. The new regulation made it mandatory for drivers approaching an uncontrolled 3 way intersection along the terminating road to give right of way to all drivers on the continuing road, including those drivers turning, or intending to turn, from the continuing road into the terminating road. This report outlines the results of an evaluation study of the new regulation covering such aspects as driver behaviour, road accidents, and vehicle delay.
