Pavement investigation of five residential streets in Ringwood, Victoria

The Australian Road Research Board (ARRB) was requested by Ringwood City Council to investigate the soundness of five residential streets in east ringwood. These streets showed block and craze type cracking and some loss of shape. Recommendations were requested as to the suitability of remedial treatment by bituminous concrete overlay. This report provides a description of the condition of these streets at December 1977, the details of a benkelman beam deflection survey and pavement investigation and recommendations for possible remedial treatment. The choice between a sprayed bitumen surface treatment and a bituminous concrete overlay was seen to be based on cost and the need for shape improvements. Kerbs and channels were seen to require attention.
