Computer based form 7s
The first version of a computer based system to handle ARRB project reporting data is described. The system runs on the ARRB cdc cyber 171 computer and uses standard cyber software utilities for the capture, editing and retrieval of the text. Design considerations were that the existing manual reporting system should be followed as closely as possible and the computer based version should be operational as quickly as possible. Details of operating instructions and programme structures are included with an example of a complete form. The system provides for a standard 3 page a4 layout report of basic project details, progress and forward programme, published reports, committee advice and directors' decisions. After further experience has been gained with the system, and feedback from users, it will be modified as necessary (a).
