Methods of testing soil for engineering purposes, part F - soil strength and consolidation tests, AS 1289.F5.1-1977, determination of the static cone penetration resistance of a soil field test using a cone or a friction cone penetrometer

This method applies to the determination of the static cone penetration resistance of a soil in the field, using a cone penetrometer, and additionally the sleeve skin friction and friction ratio if a friction cone penetrometer is used. The method permits the use of either mechanical or electrical penetrometers.
