A note on consistency of choice units in entropy models

In using entropy maximization models to forecast locational and travel behaviour, one is confronted with the problem that the choice units of the locational problem do not usually coincide with those of the corresponding travel problem. Whereas the location choice is of a site for a household or a firm, travel choices are options of individual members of a household or individual employees of a firm. In the following, we demonstrate how the traditional models are modified when the above differences are recognized (a).
