Road safety for children

Children die on Australian roads primarily as pedestrians or as car passengers. The paper reviews the development and use of child restraints in Australia, also the effects of usage laws and the research and development of promotional advertising in NSW. Child pedestrian safety problems are described as is an educational kit for children under 8 years of age, now used throughout NSW in infants' schools, and which was based on behavioural research.
