Stabilization characteristics of some Saudi Arabian soils

Stabilization characteristics of some Saudi Arabian soils in the western region have been investigated at varying relative compaction and cement content. After preliminary soil survey, sampling and classification, soils were selected for stabilization. The results of the present investigation reveal that of various factors affecting cement stabilization, compaction has a marked effect on the properties. The study further reveals that with cement contents about 4 - 9 per cent by weight, the soils may be stabilized provided the relative compaction lies between 95- 100 per cent (a).
