Comparison between the results of penetration tests with the static penetrometer and the heavy dynamic penetrometer

Several penetration tests with the static penetrometer and with the heavy dynamic penetrometer have been performed in 1977 at 13 different places in the city of hannover, gfr. In each case two of these tests have been carried out side by side by each of the penetrometer types. The results of these tests were the basis of an investigation applying the linear regression analysis. In order to compare the test results with each other the point resistance of the static penetrometer and the number of blows of the dynamic penetrometer to advance 20 cm have been converted into performed work. The penetration tests placed side by side with a distance of about 0.8 M, have been compared and subsequently the combined values of all penetration tests. The coefficients of the chosen linear regression formula have been computed just as the confidence bounds of these coefficients and the correlation coefficient (a).
