Regulation aspects: operating problems

The business and community pressure for deregulation of transport services on international, interstate and intrastate services raises two basic issues for operators. The paper argues that with deregulation goes the responsibility to maintain minimal standards in terms of safety and the need to establish a national consultative committee system to monitor the performance of the transport industry (a).
