ACOUSTIC METHODS OF RESEARCH INTO THE PROPERTIES AND HARDENING OF CEMENT-STABILIZED SOILS

A RELATION WAS ESTABLISHED BETWEEN CHANGES IN THE DYNAMIC MODULUS OF ELASTICITY AND VARIATIONS IN THE STRENGTH OF STABILIZED SOILS ACCORDING TO MOISTURE CONTENT. DATA ON THE DYNAMIC MODULUS OF ELASTICITY ARE TABULATED ACCORING TO TYPE OF MATERIAL, SURFACE-ACTIVE AGENT AND PROPORTION OF CEMENT USED, CURVES PLOT THE RATE OF HARDENING OF THE TEST BEAMS. IT WAS FOUND THAT A COMPARISON OF PARAMETERS OBTAINED BY THE ULTRASONIC PULSE METHOD FOR STABILIZED SOIL OF DIFFERENT COMPOSITION AND MOISTURE CONTENT DOES NOT GENERALLY INDICATE THEIR RELATIVE STRENGTHS.
