Interactive choice experiments and agency interdependencies

This paper develops a framework within which multiple agents make discrete choices. Ideas in discrete choice theory and game theory are combined to define a set of choice experiments in which agents interact in arriving at a choice. A stated choice experiment, known as an interactive agency choice experiment (IACE), offers an empirical framework within which to explore offers and feedback in arriving at a matrix of cooperation and noncooperation probabilities for choice alternatives evaluated by interacting agents. The approach highlights the role of information and negotiation in breaking down the barriers between interacting agents and revealing appropriate incentives to produce desirable cooperation.
