Strategy for pavement research and development

The Strategy for Pavement Research and Development identifies broad objectives and strategies to show the desirable direction of pavement research in Australia and New Zealand. The strategy lists priority pavement research initiatives, planned outputs and expected benefits. The strategy provides the basis for co-ordination and co-operation in pavement research between ARRB, public road agencies, private industry and academic institutions, and provides a framework for avoiding duplication of research effort. It describes mechanisms for industry involvement. This document will strengthen the co-ordination of pavement research activities in ARRB, government road agencies, industry and academic institutions, provide a better appreciation of priorities and enable consideration of the implications of re-allocation of effort to achieve the defined objectives.
