The cost-effectiveness of motor vehicle emission controls
This technical report reviews available literature on the cost and effectiveness of options for controlling motor vehicle emission of hydrocarbons and nitrogen oxides. It also highlights several economic incentives that could be used to complement regulatory controls. The report was externally reviewed by officers of the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority and the NSW Department of Transport. The purpose of the report is to provide a preliminary review and to stimulate discussion on various options for emissions control. It does not represent any fixed policy position of the EPA of the NSW Government.
