A "DENSITY-TEMPERATURE" METHOD OF DETERMINING THE CARBONATE CONTENT OF SOILS /IN FRENCH/

A NEW METHOD FOR DETERMINING THE CARBONATE CONTENT OF SOIL IS PRESENTED WHICH IS BASED ON THE ATTACK OF THE MATERIAL WITH A SOLUTION OF HYDROCHLORIC ACID OF A KNOWN INITIAL DENSITY AND ON THE MEASUREMENT OF THE DENSITY AND TEMPERATURE AT THE END OF THE CORROSION PROCESS. THE METHOD IS SIMPLE, ADAPTABLE, RAPID, INEXPENSIVE, AND SUFFICIENTLY ACCURATE, BUT SENSITIVE TO SOME INTERFERENCES IN ABOUT THE SAME WAY AS MORE CONVENTIONAL METHODS. /TRRL/
