DUAL-FUEL GAS TURBINES FOR GAS TANKERS
During loading, unloading and the transit period of an LNG ship, some of the cargo will boil off. This boil-off contains a large amount of energy that must be dissipated. A solution to this problem is achieved through the use of a dual-fuel engine. With this type of system, the boil-off can be mixed with the ship's own fuel and safely burned off. This system can also be used to safely pressurize the cargo tanks during loading and unloading operations.
