Ecologically sustainable development of road pavement networks
The significance of several factors influencing the viability of ecologically sustainable developments is highlighted. The main factors affecting these developments are: ever increasing rate of population growth, creation of national wealth by providing personal incentives, controlled development of national resources and anticipation of environmental changes. The role of road transport in the development of national wealth is assessed. Specific to road transport, the problems of noise level optimization, longevity of paving materials, selection of urban transport systems and methods of controlling ecological balance, are briefly discussed.
