Geographic information systems: lessons from Vic Roads' experience
Geographic Information System technology is capable of dramatically improving service delivery by State Road Authorities. Successful implementation, however, requires careful planning to balance the various needs and objectives. This paper categorises candidate applications, identifies some issues and presents the history of GIS in VIC ROADS.
