SOILS, ORGANIC BINDER DEMONSTRATED AT SANITARY LANDFILL

THE FIRST APPLICATION OF LIGNON SULFONATE FOR UNPAVED ROAD IMPROVEMENT AND DUST CONTROL IN THE DENVER METROPOLITAN AREA WAS MADE RECENTLY ON A HAUL ROAD TO ARAPAHOE COUNTY'S SANITARY LANDFILL. ONE APPLICATION OF APPROXIMATELY 2,000 GALLONS OF CONCENTRATE, CUT ONE TO ONE WITH WATER WAS USED. THE SOLUTION WAS MIXED WITH THE MATERIAL. THE HAUL ROAD WAS THEN SHAPED WITH A GRADER, ROLLED WITH A RUBBER TIRE ROLLER AND FINISHED WITH A STEEL WHEEL ROLLER. TEMPERATURE AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION WAS 28 F AND THE WORK WAS DONE ON 2 INCHES OF FROZEN EARTH. /AUTHOR/
