Assessment of the probability of rain induced landsliding
Statistical analyses of rainfall data have been carried out and the results compared to piezometric levels recorded and predicted in landslides at Speers Point, New South Wales, and to recorded landslide events. The analysis indicates that simple statistical approaches can be used to assess the recurrence period of landsliding and to define the rainfall conditions which lead to landsliding (A).
