A PRACTICAL APPLICATION OF SOIL STABILIZATION WITH LIME TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF NATIONAL ROADS IN SWITZERLAND /IN FRENCH/

IN ORDER TO PREVENT THE LOSS OF EXCAVATED MATERIAL UNUSABLE BECAUSE OF ITS LOW CONSISTENCY AND IN ORDER TO ECONOMIZE ON HIGH-QUALITY MATERIAL FOR EMBANKMENT CONSTRUCTION, STUDIES WERE MADE OF METHODS OF CONVERTING UNUSABLE EXCAVATED MATERIAL INTO ACCEPTABLE MATERIAL. STABILIZATION WITH LIME WAS USED FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A 15000 CUBIC METER EMBANKMENT IN THE RHEINKLINGEN-WAGENHAUSEN REGION; THIS METHOD ENABLED EMBANKMENT MATERIAL WHICH HAD A MOISTURE CONTENT ABOVE THE OPTIMUM LEVEL TO BE USED. /VSS/LCPC/RRL/
