Some aspects of unbound graded road aggregate materials in Kuwait
The existing specification in regard to the acceptance of unbound road aggregate materials relates to some or all of the following: aggregate type, plasticity of fines, grading, aggregate crushing values, los angeles value, flakiness index and sand equivalent value. These criteria though simple are neither meaningful nor reliable. The paper presents some improved methods of testing and controlling the qualities of all types of unbound road graded materials which are available in kuwait with a view to establishing appropriate acceptance criteria. It also examines correlations amongst various physical, mechanical and strength characteristics of the unbound aggregate materials (a).
